Re: Jeff Bagby's Kairos 3 way project completed

Encouraging,  depending on what Mark at Meniscus tells me about price and availability, I'm inclined to go that route. I love the detail and clarity of the Kairos speakers, but I then having a woofer will add a dimension of depth and fullness that I  miss.

Re: Jeff Bagby's Kairos 3 way project completed

I've completed my Kairos speakers and I'm very pleased with how they sound and am now thinking about adding the woofer to them. I'm curious about how that worked out for you. Specifically,  can you say something about the sound?

Re: Jeff Bagby's Kairos 3 way project completed

Perfect. I kind of thought that would be your answer.  I will be using a thicker veneer that I will resaw from a very nice piece of canarywood that I've had kicking around for a couple of years. It will be close to 1/16" thick, so I will have less danger of sanding through. Thank you very much ...

Re: Jeff Bagby's Kairos 3 way project completed

Just got my Kairos kit and am getting ready to build the enclosures. I have a question regarding through trim on your Kairos unit... how did you do the round over on the top, given the angle of the baffle?

Re: Jeff Bagby's Kairos 3 way project completed

Being a woodworker myself, all I can say is WOW!! I'm impressed and inspired. I've been wanting to build a pair of Kairos speakers for a long time and plan to get started next month. Your design for the enclosure very much appeals to my sense of asthetics and makes me more anxious to get started. Th...

Re: Caritas Speakers, my impressions

I think I posted my impressions too soon. Now that they have more hours on them, I like them,
especially given my purpose for them which is to provide music for me when I'm engaging in my woodworking hobby. I'd have to say, I got more than my doĺlar's worth of value from them.

Caritas Speakers, my impressions

Earlier, I posted a question asking if anyone had experience with the Caritas kit. Judging from the number of viewings, I guess many others are interested. While I didn't get any qualitative answers, I decided to get one anyway. Since the speakers were to go in my garage to keep me in musical compan...

Caritas Speaker Kit

I'd be interested in hearing from anyon who has built one of these, namely how does it sound. I built a pair of Overnite Sensations that I like, so I'd be interested in knowing if anyone can contrast Overnite Sensation with Caritas. I'm thinking of building a couple as a graduation gift for a friend...

Re: Baby Boomer Sub

Thanks, I think I'm gonna take your advice. I'm curious, though... I looked up the SDX-10 and see in the notes on the spec sheet that they suggest a sealed 24 liter box (just under 1 cubic foot) stuffed with 16 oz of polyfill. What effect will the larger size you suggested have on the sound?

Re: Baby Boomer Sub

Thanks for the reply, Jeff. I've never had a sub before and really know little about them. I'm not into home theater, just stereo, and my listening taste include mainly instrumental classical music... orchestral, chamber, and piano. I guess I'm a little insecure about whether a sub, and particularly...
