New Hiquphon subsitute on the horizon?

Post by Jeff B. » Sun Nov 02, 2014 9:03 pm

I ran across this:
http://www.sbacoustics.com/index.php/pr ... st-c000-4/

There doesn't appear to be anyone selling it at this time (hint, hint), but the preliminary data looks nicely comparable to a Hiquphon, I suspect at a much lower price. If its performance is anywhere close to the SB26 tweeters then it should be an excellent candidate for a 3/4" dome.

Appears to have nicely controlled directivity too.

Those along with the Satori 5" and all black TW29 tweeter are on order. :-)

Would these really have the same QC as a Hiquphon?

Or take the SB Acoustics SB26ADC-C000-4. That one should be on par with a Scan Speak 9800. For $ 50. Amazing. Literally.

These products represent incredible value. But are they as good as the real deal? You get what you pay for.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. :)
