Bass box 6 Pro/X-Over 3 Pro software

Post by garyroach » Sat Feb 13, 2016 6:46 pm

Hi everyone,
I'm new here at the forum. I have been building speakers since I was a teenager. That's a long time. These were allways designed by others. I have just recently tryied my hand at speaker design using BassBox/Crossover Pro software. My first attemet was a amall two way for my computer. It used a Vifa dome tweeter and a 4" poly cone woofer. I think it turned out well.

Now I would like to try something a little bit more chalenging. I am thinking of a three way using all Scan Speak drivers. Woofer, 26W/8861T00, mid ,18W8531G00 and tweeter AirCirc D3004/6600. Unfortunately the crossover design portion of the software does not have the frequency response or impedance information for these or any Scan Speak drivers. Does anyone out there know where I can get this information to import into my software? Thanks.

Free simulation programs like Xsim, WinPCD, PCD (Excel sheets), and others use files called .frd and .zma files. You can use fprawn's tracing program to generate them which works very well (http://labs.fprawn.com/index.php/fpgraphtracer/), or others such as SPLtrace or SplCopy.

Xover Pro does not take drivers' offsets or phase, etc into account during simulation, and therefore really isn't as effective as the others listed above.

Welcome to the forum,
