Hello!

I've been slowly tinkering with audio for a couple years, but I have yet to be an active member of any forums. I seek to change that today!  :D
I have purchased one speaker kit from Meniscus so far, and I have been quite happy with it, and with support from Mark. I hope my experience here follows that same pattern, and look forward to learning from everyone.

Hello All,
I'm relatively new to DIY speaker building.  But I've built 2 pair so far. 1) Finalist TM monitors. I love these. I have a few tweaks still to make on them though. 2) Overnight Sensations - I built these for my sister with her 2 kids. It was fun. I'm investigating what I want to build next. I have ideas, but I want to discuss it here a bit more before I pull the trigger.  I look forward to talking to you all!

I currently have the Finalist TM's on stands in the Living Room.  I bought some Dayton Audio black pre-made cabinets given that I was going for reasonable WAF.  However, it turns out that speakers on stands kind of bother her.  I would argue with her about the fact that she helped pick out the stands, but it gives me an excuse to build another pair. So, I'm not going to complain. :-)
I've got so many thoughts on this, I'm not ever sure where to begin. Forgive me for being verbose here.  For the living room, I was considering the Continuums or the Speedsters with a small subwoofer.  The Continuums would fit on one of our bookshelves sideways. (Yes. I know. Horrible way to position them. But.... WAF) The left channel would be upright near a corner at ear level. The Speedsters would fit better (Upright)  but I read on a forum somewhere that the Speedsters aren't quite as flexible or forgiving with placement as the Continuums.  They would be at one end of a long 23.5" X 11.5" room with 8 foot ceilings, partially carpeted hardwood floors, lamps, sofa, and various other furniture. Not ideal, to say the least.  I've heard Jeff Bagby say that he designed the Continuums to be ideal for conveying vocals.  We would be playing rock on them more than anything else. But we do love to play jazz and low-key stuff on our living room set as well.  If I'm really lucky, maybe I could talk the wife into a "tasteful" tower.  I'd love to hear what the Speedster TMM TL sounds like versus the Finalist TL.   Decisions. Decisions.

Hello,
Putting together a vintage system right now. Speakerlab 4s and Pioneer SX1050 both rebuilt.
Hoping to build Anthology II. Won't be my first build but it will be my most ambitious.
