Invictus for HT?

Post by lowpolyjoe » Fri Mar 15, 2019 4:59 pm

Anyone run the Invictus design for home-theatre use?

I have some restive (narrow but tall) tower design constraints for my space and have been searching for a good design to meet my needs. Invictus has some nice looking drivers and well respected designer, but design writeup essentially says it's not for HT.

I don't require a ton of bass ... i rarely run a sub with my HT setup. I was thinking of the MLTL config and probably no sub. I'm a little worried if low frequency effects will overwealm the mid/woofer since it plays so low (i think into the 20s).

The speakers will be very far from the back wall. Too far :-( LIke 10 feet. It's a weird room setup, but it is what it is.

For reference, I was happy with my Finalists but they are much too wide for new setup. I'm currently running Zaph 2.5 towers, which are nice but somewhat lacking on the low end (no sub) and the tweeters are damaged due to curious cats.

Thanks.

I'd love to see Invictus design for home theatre. I think it could work. Did you go for it, Joe?
