Welcome & Guidelines

Post by meniscus » Tue Jun 08, 2010 3:13 pm

Feel free to join the tribe and tell us what you're building these days.

You are welcome to post on topics that are speaker, music, and electronics related.  Slightly off topic is fine too.   Just refrain from political, religious or lifestyle subjects.

Due to those nasty spammers, your first post will need to be approved.  Post a simple "hello" as soon as possible so you will be ready to go when you have something important to post.

Mark

Hello fellow DIY builders

I'm a cabinet maker by hobby, but retired from ironwork as a blue collar trade worker.

What I am building? I hope to build a NOLA Speaker inspired 3 way system using LPG 26T tweeter, LPG 50AT midrange and a SSE 10" woofer. I have the MDF and choice of Cherry, Maple and American Walnut, three of the species I have on hand.

I just completed a built for my brother, he chose the woofers and together we designed and assembled a 2way using 5" woofers in a "MTM" configuration, using a 2nd order LR filter @ 5100Hz ... Sounds fantastic! My brother preferred to have the speakers non intrusive visually so on went flat black paint...

I followed the Elsinore project, but built my pr. using different woofers and as such felt out of sorts with that crowd. Maybe I'll return and learn more rather than punish them by ignoring the lot! LOL.....

Hello fellow DIY'ers!

My current project is a pair of ported SDX10's. Hopefully I will have them completed soon and I can share my progress with the group.

Cheers!
Jeff

It's great to see this forum well visited by many I know from other sites. I'm looking forward to participating here - to contribute, experiment, and learn. Thanks to Mark for bringing this to fruition.

Hello,

I've visited here occasionally and just registered today. I currently have two projects going (Triton and Mandolin). I have the boxes for the Mandolins all glued up and veneered and am waiting for it to finally warm up here so I can finish them up in my garage. I have the Triton boxes all cut and initially was going to try and incorporate a round port, but because of the dimensions on the box it's impossible for a straight port if mounting on the front or back of the box and I could never find an acceptable way to bend the port. So I'm resolved to rebuild the box and just use the slot port, but the Mandolins come first. I'm happy to be a member here and look forward to posting more.

This is my first post to say "Hi". Current project is building some speakers for a digital ("virtual") organ.

Hi, everyone.

I just ordered an Adelphos kit from Mark on Thursday. I've read great things about the Satori drivers and Jeff's great designs, so I had to try my hand at making these speakers. (Yes. I'm a bit intimidated by the Kairos shape plus WAF issues would magically appear.)

I hope I can find someone to help me with the baffles since I lack a router (and the skills!).

Thanks,

Michael

Hello. My name is Michael.

I'm new here, but I now own an Adelphos kit that is waiting for me to assemble. I can't wait to hear them.
