Re: Welcome & Guidelines
Hello,
As you might infer from my username, I'm probably in the older half (Ha!) of this group. My oldest son has been an audiophile for years. He's been doing car audio projects for himself and his friends for years. Last year or so I persuaded him to assist me in building a portable 2.0 system for small meeting and classrooms. Mission creep set in. I ended up with a 2.0 system, but I also now have a 2.1 system which gets 99% of its use as my Mac sound system. My son designed a bass reflex system with a 6.5" woofer that is tuned to 45Hz. It will reproduce 30Hz if the YouTube video I was using is correct, but he told me not to crank it up below the tuned frequency. Anyhow, it's a great system and I'm enjoying hearing all the parts of my early boomer tunes that I've never heard before. We are now rebuilding a pair of 41" high Kenwood "dual port" enclosures from the late '80's. The woofers are still good and will be reused.

Hello all!
Some of you I met at InDIYana '15. I look forward to great build project talk here soon.
I was the new guy who dived in on the micro 3-way with the not-damped-enough mid.
I hope to get the build thread up tonight.

Re: Welcome & Guidelines
Hello DIYers,
I have just ordered my Overnight Sensation MTMs for my left, right, and centre channels! I have the cabinets about 80% done, just have the finishing to do. I am doing the sides and top in an ash veneer that I am staining "weathered gray" and am just doing the front panel with gloss black.
I will post photos and build progress in a new thread!

Hello friends,
My name is Joe Sheringo. I just received my Anthology kit from Meniscus and will be beginning this project shortly. I'm sure I will have many questions and appreciate all advice.
Thank you,
Joe

Hello from Austin TX. I'm new to DIY speakers so I definitely plan to start off with a kit and build the cabinets myself. There's so many choices out there, I'm definitely gonna need some advice on which kit to choose.

Hi fellow DIYers. Apparently im buying drinks for everyone so if you head down to my place I will sort you out Aussie style. I live on the surfcoast in Victoria so it might be a long ride home.

Hello everyone!
Re: Welcome & Guidelines
Hello all,
I got the bug to build speakers recently, and needed to put together a HT system for my new house. I didn't know where to start, so I built a sealed 12" sub first. My old L and R are okay for now, but I needed a center badly, so after much research and forum lurking, I bought a Swope 3 way center kit. It arrived today. First, I have to build a new tv table with shelf space to accommodate the Swope. After I finish that, the real fun begins. No doubt, I'll have lots of questions. I work slow because I have MS and can only do a little at a time, but I'll try to post pics and progress reports as I go. After that, a pair of Swope towers might be worth doing. Stay tuned....
