DIY Speaker Project PAD

Hi Everyone,

I am building the Kairos kit and its my first real build (besides) a Dayton BR1 kit. I cut out a lot of the board panels but not to the exact (more challenging) specs that Meniscus sent me I'm not too confident on doing 45 degree cuts but I'm going to look into it. Currently testing one speaker/crossover in a .5cuft square box (angled with a peg sounds OK, but the front baffle is not glued on. I need to figure out how to remove all the excess glue off the front panel first to get it to glue on flat.

I'd say it might almost sound as good as my CM9 as it is now, but I need to also learn to make a flush mount and glue on the rest of the panel. I hope to work on the front panels later today.

From your picture, it doesn't look like the front baffle is slanted back at 14 degrees. If it is not it will begin to create a dip in the response in the crossover region. One thing you can is if put some feet under the front edge so that the speaker is tilted back the right amount. In you wanted a standard rectangular cabinet, the Adelphos was designed to use the same drivers but in a standard box.

Thank you Jeff. I placed a piece of MDF under the box to test it, while I was building the slanted enclosure. Then a kind forum member (Richidoo) offered me a pair of almost finished enclosure for free (after shipping). I just need to cut the driver cutouts and make the internal braces! Can't wait, the speaker are sounding good!
